BWTC stands for ‘Breakfast with the Coach’, a forum that introduces us to people we consider role models and would otherwise not have an opportunity to meet. Our top leaders and CEOs have stories no one has heard – we are not only trying to get you to hear and learn some very key marketplace tools, but we also want you to hear the stories raw from some of the people who have made some amazing strides in business. Everybody wants to hear the glamour dimension but we want to hear about the journey too. We want to be a part of the journey that takes you to heights others have only dreamed about – our aim is to bring you very high value at a very low premium – BWTC offers this to you.
This forum handles hardcore issues facing our generation with regards to the marketplace and preparation for the future.Even as the forum grows, the program remains fairly simple with each invited guest having a 10min presentation on their life story and where they are now (previous jobs, experiences – literally keeping it as real as possible so that those aspiring to get to where they are can learn from their life experiences, successes, mistakes etc.) After presentations, the meeting takes on a new phase of ‘Question and Answer’ allowing participation from the audience. These questions usually range from financing options for current interests to personal questions regarding life. This then leads to an hour or less for networking purposes and allows the guests to interact with the audience on a one on one level.
The COACH is the name given to the invited speaker who has earned the right to be heard in their specialized field. However, the Coach and the visionary of the event is the Senior Pastor of Purpose Centre Church [PC], Reverend Julian Kyula, who is also the founder of a leading company with offices across the globe, and has also founded an outreach arm, ‘Raising Kingdom Champions’ that has partnered with the church to be relevant, significant, timely, focused and dependable. BWTC is just one of the tools that the Church uses to Raise Kingdom Champions by empowering the body of Christ with relevant tools for daily living.
Initially, the forum whose idea was birthed between 4 men sharing tea, was targeted as a men’s only breakfast. This idea became a reality when men through the “Men of Valor” (A church ministry) were invited to a breakfast event. Men of different backgrounds met and many were empowered by the wisdom shared. This initial event hosted speakers including, Mr. Duncan Kabui (CEO, Chase Bank), Richard Gitonga (CEO, Salrich), Josphat Kinyua (Director Tatu City and Former VP Renaissance Equity Partners Africa), and Apostle Richardson Sonstar from the US. The men had an awesome time and networked extensively after this event. This created a hunger for more of BWTC events as well as interest from the women of the Church who requested to be included at the next event.
As BWTC grew in popularity, the visionaries saw it fit to include it in the annual church conference, ‘Shift’ in 2012. The forum had an attendance of approximately 400 people both men and women. The speakers in this event included, Julie Gichuru (Journalist, Royal Media), Mr. Duncan Kabui (CEO, Chase Bank), Josphat Kinyua (Director Tatu City and Former VP Renaissance Equity Partners Africa), Norah Odwesso (Public Affairs and Communications Director, Coca Cola East &Central Africa) and Mary M’Mukindia (UNEP). The speakers were very real and spoke genuinely about the challenges, failures and success that they have encountered.
The audience comprised people from different backgrounds, churches, corporates and countries; mostly consisting of entrepreneurs of all ages, professionals, employees, as well as college students and graduates. This event struck a chord with many in the audience as well as the organizers of the event thus the need to continue with a men and women forum was initialized.
BWTC hopes to reach more people and Raise Kingdom Champions.
BWTC 2013
As these events are usually fully sold out weeks before, we suggest that you get a ticket early enough to secure your place in the meeting. The first event will be held on the 23rd of February at Ole Sereni Hotel off Mombasa Road.
In 2013 what we will give you access to will be mind blowing. We will ensure that you are learning from ‘individual universities’ through a very well screened group of presenters who will set the pace for 2013 and the future. We want you to not only hear stories – but learn how to raise funds, raise effective teams to carry out your vision; learn what works in growing a global enterprise, learn from mistakes others have made, work-life balance (how to raise great children and keep a happy home while conquering the world), how to tap into the financial and the technical tsunami coming into Africa – truth is, we have one question for you – Are You Ready?
This is a great time to be in Africa and we want to show you why.
Get ready for a transforming time to network and to grow in what is quickly becoming East Africa’s most effective forum!
Hope to see you there!
